Audi will be competing in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship from 2026. 

The new team has two locations. Audi's Motorsport Competence Center in Neuburg (Germany) is considered one of the most modern of its kind in Europe. The Sauber Group's Formula 1 factory in Hinwil (Switzerland) is known for its innovative technologies and passion for racing. The Power Unit comes from Neuburg, while Hinwil is responsible for the development of the chassis and race operations. The planned takeover by AUDI AG turns two teams into a factory team – and you can be part of it.

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Health & Safety Manager to oversee all aspects of health and safety across both locations in Hinwil. In this role, the position holder will maintain robust safety systems, ensure legal compliance, and train team leaders and the team to cultivate a zero-incident safety culture throughout our facilities.

The position for the Audi F1 Project is at Sauber in Hinwil (Switzerland).
Your mission
  • Develop and implement site-specific health and safety policies and procedures aligned with company and legal standards.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and hazard identification across production lines and manufacturing equipment in strong alingment with the Director Operations & Team Leaders
  • Lead investigations into accidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions, and implement corrective actions to mitigate future risks
  • Perform routine safety audits, inspections, and compliance checks on machinery, tools, materials handling, and workspaces
  • Deliver or coordinate training programs, equipment safety, chemical handling, fire safety, and emergency procedures
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of incidents, training, risk assessments, and safety compliance documentation
  • Collaborate closely with production, engineering, maintenance, and HR teams to integrate safety into operational planning.
  • Monitor contractors and third-party service providers to ensure they meet site safety requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation 
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives and promote employee engagement in safety practices 
  • Create and maintain safety concepts for the race team
  • Manage team of safe guards who take responsibility on safety practices (e.g. annual first aid trainings, rescue procedures)
Your profile
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a health and safety role ideally in an industrial, production environment
  • Relevant Certificate or Diplomas in Safefy Management (or equivalent H&S qualification)
  • Solid knowledge of Swiss regulations and safety legislation and best practices
  • Practical experience with machine safety, chemical handling, manual handling, and ergonomic assessments
  • Proficient in safety reporting systems, incident tracking tools, and Microsoft Office
  • Strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills at all levels
  • Flexibility and taking a pragmatic approach towards problems
  • ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety Management) implementation experience and environmental management awareness (ISO 14001) would be advantageous 
  • First Aid at Work and/or Fire Marshal training will be considered a plus
  • Fluency in English and good working knowledge of German are required
