Welcome to the Audi F1 Project. 
 
Audi will be competing in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship from 2026. 
The new team has two locations. Audi's Motorsport Competence Center in Neuburg (Germany) is considered one of the most modern of its kind in Europe. The Sauber Group's Formula 1 factory in Hinwil (Switzerland) is known for its innovative technologies and passion for racing. The Power Unit comes from Neuburg, while Hinwil is responsible for the development of the chassis and race operations. The planned takeover by AUDI AG turns two teams into a factory team – and you can be part of it.

Who we're looking for
We are looking for experienced mechanical and hydraulic Senior Systems Design Engineers to join our Systems Group.
 

Where?
The position for the Audi F1 Project is at Sauber in Hinwil (Switzerland).
Your mission
 
  • Responsibility for the design and development of mechanical and hydraulic systems and components for the racecar and associated R&D activities.
  • Work on systems associated with the Power Unit integration, steering, braking, fuel & cooling layouts.
  • Planning and overseeing the testing of systems concepts on test rigs and on the racecar.
  • Produce detailed CAD models and technical drawings (CATIA v6 / 3DExperience advantageous) and maintain technical documentation and standards compliance.
  • Liaise closely with suppliers and a range of other technical groups across the team to ensure efficient and reliable designs for the relevant systems.
  • Optimise systems for performance and reliability with simulation tools and analyse data to improve performance.
  • Contribute to the continual improvement of people & processes, mentoring other engineers and providing technical guidance.
Your profile
  • Minimum degree qualification in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in mechanical and/or hydraulics system design in an F1 or high-level motorsports environment.
  • Familiarity with the FIA legality & homologation considerations for systems components.
  • Experience with system simulation & programming tools such as FEA, Matlab / Simulink, Amesim, Python.
  • Professional proficiency in English for effective report communication.
  • Excellent teamwork, communication & organisational skills with experience of managing & mentoring.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and with a keen sense of responsibility
