Welcome to the Audi F1 Project.

Audi will be competing in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship from 2026.

The new team has two locations. Audi's Motorsport Competence Center in Neuburg (Germany) is considered one of the most modern of its kind in Europe. The Sauber Group's Formula 1 factory in Hinwil (Switzerland) is known for its innovative technologies and passion for racing. The Power Unit comes from Neuburg, while Hinwil is responsible for the development of the chassis and race operations. The planned takeover by AUDI AG turns two teams into a factory team – and you can be part of it.

This position for the Audi F1 Project is at Sauber in Hinwil (Switzerland).

Become part of the Power Unit Race Team. Travel worldwide and participate in trackside operations!

Your mission

ICE responsible
ICE measurement data responsible for performance and health vitals; responsible for ICE allocation, commissioning, fire-up, tracking and troubleshooting
Calibrate and manage ICE data set
Coordinate between electricians, mechanics, and mission control
Translate driver feedback into optimization of ICE drivability, performance and reliability
Operate hands-on on motorsport ICE components, especially periphery (turbo charger, etc.)
Reporting and documentation; coordination ICE parts logistics
FIA contact person for ICE specific topics; execution and documentation of track specific ICE tests
Think and act solution – oriented and communicate calculated risks

Your profile

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or equivalent qualification/experience
Previous experience with trackside and testbench operations in the internal combustion engine field
Proven experience in ICE (full engine and component/periphery) development (combustion process, calibration, load change and mechanics)
Good knowledge in ICE Hardware fault finding, root cause analysis, system health monitoring
Good understanding of reliability and fault prediction
Experience in ATLAS, TeamDB, Matlab/Simulink
Good knowledge of calibration tools, telemetry, and data viewing platforms
Proactive and capable in communicating critical decisions, fast and analytical personality with strong decision taking skills
Resilient personality and strong team player, able to work under challenging conditions around the world, with high flexibility to work on weekends (overtime hours when needed)
Full professional proficiency in English and a willingness to learn a basic level of German are prerequisites

Arbeite auf den Formel 1-Rennstrecken weltweit und werde Teil des Power Unit Race Teams!

Deine Aufgabe

Verantwortung für den Verbrennungsmotor (ICE) und alle Messdaten rund um Leistung und Betriebszustand
Verantwortung für Bereitstellung, Inbetriebnahme, Start, Überwachung und Fehleridentifikation des Motors; Applikation und Verwaltung des ICE-Datensatzes
Koordination zwischen Elektrikern, Mechanikern und Mission Control
Umsetzung der Fahrer-Feedbacks zur Optimierung von Fahrverhalten, Leistung und Zuverlässigkeit des ICE
Praktische Arbeit an ICE–Motorsportkomponenten, insbesondere an der Peripherie (Turbolader, etc.)
Arbeit mit Applikations-Tools, Telemetrie und Datenüberwachungsplattformen
Berichterstattung und Dokumentation
Koordination ICE-Teilelogistik
FIA-Ansprechpartner für ICE-spezifische Themen
Durchführung und Dokumentation von streckenspezifischen ICE-Tests
Lösungsorientiertes Arbeiten und Kommunikation von kalkulierten Risiken

Dein Profil

Bachelor- oder Master-Abschluss in Ingenieurswissenschaften oder ähnliche Qualifikation
Breite Erfahrung mit Trackside- und Prüfstandsarbeiten im Bereich ICE
Nachgewiesene Erfahrung in ICE-Entwicklung (Motor, Komponenten/Peripherie, Brennverfahren, Applikation, Ladungswechsel und Mechanik)
Gute Kenntnisse in ICE-Hardware für Fehler-, Ursachenanalysen und die Überwachung des Betriebszustandes
Gutes Verständnis für Themen Zuverlässigkeits- und Fehlervorhersagen
Erfahrung in ATLAS, TeamDB, Matlab/Simulink.
Schnell, analytisch, proaktiv und in der Lage kritische Entscheidungen zu treffen und diese zu kommunizieren; absoluter Team-Player
Flexibilität, Leidenschaft und eine hohe Bereitschaft für Reisen rund um die Welt (insbesondere an Wochenenden mit Bereitschaft zu Überstunden)
Verhandlungssichere Englisch-Kenntnisse sowie die Bereitschaft Grundkenntnisse der deutschen Sprache zu erlernen sind Voraussetzung
